LOYALTY to God’s Word: Reading through the entire Bible each year is not just a good idea—it is a specific plan to hear God’s voice daily! Who doesn’t need the voice of God to guide his or her life? As you will read this week in Deuteronomy, there were consequences for ignoring God’s basic commands. In the New Testament reading of The Change Your Life Daily Bible, when Jesus was tempted, He spoke Words from Scripture. He relied on the Word of God to shape His decisions and responses. This week’s Psalms and Proverbs are compelling and thought-provoking: the Lord loves integrity and detests crookedness.
 
ENCOURAGEMENT to Others: If you have not concluded yet, that the Bible is meant to be your greatest encourager, comforter, guide and advisor, then perhaps this week’s “virtual guest,” Joel Green (Professor of NT at Fuller Seminary), will inspire you afresh! He certainly has inspired Becky to read the Bible daily for before, during, and after seminary! ADVOCACY for the Young Generation: In a recent chapel presentation by Christian Smith of Notre Dame titled Something Shifted, you will be made aware—if you are not already—of the desperate situation that exists in today’s culture, especially for the young generation. Of course, Becky believes what her professor, Joel Green believes—we must READ the Bible with our youth (not just preach to them)! What a novel idea!
 
Finally, The WEEKLY LEAD podcast always closes with a reminder that a leader must be DEVOTED to Prayer. In Becky's classic book, Let Prayer Change Your Life, she explores the many aspects of prayer by looking at Jesus’s life: all night prayer, morning prayer, 24/7 prayer.
